The AutoBaiter designed as a part of the Mustad Autoline Coastal System is based on the well proven Mustad principles. The AutoBaiter has a compact design, requires little space and is equipped with the reliable and patented RotoBaiter baiting system.
Precision baiting
At three to four hooks per second the MA BM 3000 AutoBaiter cuts the bait at a pre-set size and baits the hooks consistently at a speed of up to 180 – 200 hooks per minute (3 – 4 hooks per second).
The bait is placed on a spiked conveyor belt that feeds it into the machine where the hooks trigger a knife to cut the bait at a pre-set size. Equipped with the patented RotoBaiter baiting system the bait is penetrated twice onto the hook before it’s deployed over the stern.
Compact and flexible
The MA BM 3000 AutoBaiter is designed as a part of Mustad Autoline Coastal System and works perfectly with both the manual MagPacker and HandyMag storage magazines. It requires little space thanks to its compact design, and includes an integrated waste collector. The machine can operate with EZ/J-hooks ranging from size 11/0 to 15/0, and circle hooks from size 12/0 to 14/0 both straight and offset.
Shooting the line
When initial buoys and anchors are deployed overboard, lines are naturally pulled from the storage magazines through the baiting machine before being set. The baiting speed is approximately three to four hooks per second, depending on the spacing between the hooks and the speed of the boat. The baiting machine is operated by one crewmember who feeds bait fish onto the spiked conveyor belt.

New version - increased capacity
Compared to the version SP2000-02 the SP2000-03 version is raised by 150mm to enable the exit rail to slope. This modification allowes the hooks to slide smoother and farther in the direction of the storage magazine which has been prooven to be less labor intensive.

The main function of the Mustad Autoline HookSeparator is to separate the hooks from the mainline and guide them onto the storage magazines. This is done automatically and consistently as the gear is hauled onboard. The hook separator is also a slack taker keeping tension on the line coming from the main hauler.
Specially designed magnet pattern
The main reason for its efficiency is eight patented, compact and extremely powerful magnets. By catching the hooks, the magnets separate them from the mainline onto the magazine.
Optional water jet
To clean the hooks and line before storage, the HookSeparator can also be delivered with a high-pressure water jet. The vibration on the swivels caused by the water jet will also ease the un-twisting of snoods from the mainline, and assure maximum hook catch rate.

Main function

The total weight of the HookSeparator™ MA HS 500 is 120 kg; less than half the weight of the hook separator SP2000. This reduction in weight makes the new hook separator an excellent solution for vessels with weight limitations.

The main reason for its efficiency is the compact and extremely powerful magnets. By catching the hooks, the magnets separate them from the mainline. The hooks are guided on to the storage magazines, and the mainline coils hang below.
Spring loaded pressure wheel for maximum grip on the line
The pressure wheel is spring loaded, making sure the sheaves get maximum grip on the line. The slide rail is specially designed for the various hooks to ensure an efficient re-racking result.

The manual MagPacker system is a compact and functional storage of magazines loaded with hooks and line, tailored to available space on board the vessel.
Designed specially with regards to safety and functionality on board. The MagPacker is a strong stainless steel rack keeping the heavy magazines loaded with hooks and line in place. Optional line press system.
Heavy magazines are moved in position for setting or hauling by manual operations. Empty magazines are pushed into a temporary storage position above the rack awaiting hauling operation.
Delivered with three different spacings between the magazines:
110 mm spacing < = 7 mm main line
125 mm spacing < = 9 mm main line
160 mm spacing < = 11 mm main line
The MagPacker is located between the AutoBaiter and the HookSeparator.
Safety and good working conditions
Small vessels tend to move a lot. It is essential to focus on safety and good working conditions on board. The MA MPM – manual MagPacker is developed with special emphasis on safety and function. One person operates the system and can easily position the storage magazines to setting or hauling positions.
The magazines
The Magazines are made of aluminium and stainless steel, with complete sliding rails, inspection slits and hatches for simple mounting of hooks and snoods. The adjustable Magazines can easily be adapted to different hook types and sizes by adjusting the top rail.

Please note that quantity of hooks stated in quotes is an estimate. Quantity per meter will always depend on thickness, age and quality of the hooks and line. Consequently these given numbers are to be taken as a guideline only and not as factual numbers.
